Our practice is known for innovative clinical research and being at the forefront of technology. The Encino Optometric Center has been involved in numerous clinical research trials to evaluate the newest instruments available in ocular health management and novel contact lens designs and materials before they are available to other eye care providers. Our doctors have been active in initiating independent research projects to broaden the scope of knowledge related to the causes of various ocular conditions such as keratoconus.

EOC doctors have extensive experience in managing complex rigid gas permeable contact lens fittings for patients with a variety of corneal conditions such as keratoconus and post-surgical ectasia. We also offer prosthetic lens fittings to aid in cosmetic improvement of scarring related to eye trauma or to diminish the impact of certain eye diseases such as aniridia and ocular albinism.

Doctors Robert Gordon and Aung-Zaw Phoo of the Encino Optometric Center offer comprehensive low vision rehabilitation services. Low vision examinations allow patients to be evaluated for potential visual rehabilitation with low vision devices. Low vision aids can enhance the visual capabilities of infants, children and adults who have sustained vision loss resulting from a variety of ocular conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, retinitis pigmentosa, and ocular albinism amongst others.
